Infrastructure

Infrastructure

When I reluctantly entered into the world of government I had one goal. Raise the bar and make Costa Mesa a better place to live, work, play and raise a family. With the help of Jim Righemier, Gary Monahan, Eric Bever and the Community we turned a nine million dollar deficit into a 56 Million dollar surplus. We ignited a renaissance of improvement of the Westside that has resulted in increases in property values and new families attending our schools and opening business’s.

Costa Mesa is now viewed throughout the Country as a destination not only for shopping but for starting a family. Our Parks which were once in disrepair are being maintained. Problem motels are now being addressed and many are renovating or leaving. As a result of our Group home ordinance we are seeing the problems exit our City. As a result of our Coin ordinance the public now has a window understanding Union contracts   And clearly our roads, sidewalks and infrastructure have never looked better.

Since my election in 2012 our City has seen a capital repair program larger than any in the history of our City.

Here are some facts:

  • Capital investment since 2012 – $83,945,925
  • Miles of roads repaved –  59.1
  • Sidewalks replacement – 635,508 square feet
  • Dilapidated alley’s replaced – 6.3 miles
  • Curbs and gutters replaced – 29 miles
